Wildcard Overview (WoW Random Abilities)

Wildcard Mode is an exciting challenge mode that pits Heroes against both each other and the world of Azeroth with an entirely random set of skills. As a wildcard Hero, you will roll a random ability every few levels. By the time you reach level cap at 70, you’ll have a completely random Hero ready to challenge Dungeons, Raids, Battlegrounds, Arenas, and World PvP!

Note:

  • You can only roll abilities you meet the level requirements for
  • All Heroes will roll the same number of ‘utility’ spells (Slowfall, Waterwalking, Eye of Killrog, etc)
  • All Heroes on Season 6 are Wildcard Heroes: prove your worth by mastering your random Hero and taking them to the next level of power
  • Unwanted Skills can be re-rolled with a special item

Wildcard Mechanics

Several mechanics are unique to Wildcard Mode and worth noting:

  • Wildcard Heroes begin the game with a [Dice of Destiny] in their inventory
  • Click the [Dice of Destiny] to roll four starting abilities
    • These abilities can be rerolled as many times as you like
    • Note: If you can’t use the dice of destiny you need to fully close the Ascension client, clear your cache via the launcher cog wheel or delete your WDB folder, then update your game!
  • The following spells cannot be rolled at level 1
    • Power Word: Shield
    • Eviscerate
    • Hammer of Justice
    • Drain Soul
    • Fear
    • Divine Protection
    • Overpower
    • Greater Heal
    • Grounding Totem
    • Note: These spells become available to random at level 10
  • The following spells can only be rolled at level 1
    • Tame Beast (But can now be rerolled at any level for 3 random spells)
    • Bear Form
  • Starting at level 10, Heroes will roll a new ability every 2 levels
  • Heroes will random two Utility Spells (Eye of Killrog, Waterwalking, etc.) at levels 18 and 28
    • Attempting to reroll these utility spells will never result in a non-utility spell
  • Upon Reaching Level 60: Heroes can select one level 50 talent ability and one top tier talent (Starfall, Arcane Barrage, Living Bomb, Titan’s Grip, etc),
    • Or 2 level 50 talents (Dragon’s Breath, Typhoon, Pain Suppression, etc)
  • Upon reaching level 70, Heroes can select one additional level 50 talent ability
    • Total: 2 lv. 50 Talent Abilities and 1 lv. 60 Talent Ability, or 3 lv 50 Talent Abilities
