Arena Season 1

A New Beginning

Heroes, prepare for battle one… final... time... Season 1 is on the brink of coming to an end and will do so with the release of Serpent Shrine Caverns. However, we’re giving you one more chance at glory. Didn’t get your chance to rise to the top? Take this chance to prove yourself. Here’s what you need to know!

  • Upon merging into Wildhammer, Area-52 and Wildhammer will have their arena teams’ MMR, Personal Rating and Team Rating be reset back to 1500 and 0 respectively.
  • Conquest Points will not be set to 0, meaning you can save them or spend them as you like!
  • Prestigious Weapons on all realms are receiving an approximate 40% cost reduction. Simply, 3500 Conquest Points for a single weapon or 7000 Conquest Points for a two-handed weapon was a bit too much.
  • New Arena Season 1 capes are available for Honor Points.
  • Players who were within the top 0.5% on Area-52 and Wildhammer BEFORE this planned reset will still receive the end of season rewards whenever Arena Season 1 officially ends. There will be a discord announcement on the 28th for these players. Keep your eyes peeled.

You may be asking yourself, “What does this have to do with me?” Well frankly, I’m glad you asked. All players will now be on an equal playing field and have a final chance to grab their chance at glory and earn themselves the end of season rewards.

End of Season Rewards

  • Season 1: Gladiator Nether Drake
    • This mount is only granted to the top 0.5% arena players at the end of the season with a minimum rating requirement of 2400.
  • Season 2: Merciless Gladiator title and Merciless Nether Drake
    • This title and mount is only granted to the top 0.5% arena players at the end of the season with a minimum rating requirement of 2400.
  • Season 3: Vengeful Gladiator title and Vengeful Nether Drake
    • This title and mount is only granted to the top 0.5% arena players at the end of the season with a minimum rating requirement of 2400.
  • Season 4: Brutal Gladiator title and Brutal Nether Drake
    • This title and mount is only granted to the top 0.5% arena players at the end of the season with a minimum rating requirement of 2400.

Arena Decay System

Formally introducing the Arena Decay System. This system was put in play so arena contestants will not be able to cash out a lucky night in the arena and stay amongst the tops of the leaderboards. Want to be a Gladiator? You have to prove it each and every week. Going 14 days without entering the arena will decay 25% of your arena rating over 2200 every week. This means if you have a rating of 3,000 you will decay 200 of your rating every week until you are active within the arena once again.

Conquest Point Cap updates

Heroes! Praise Norgannon, your baseline Conquest Point Cap is gaining a 25% increase, your Conquest Point Cap is now 1,000 up from 800. This change will expedite your character's gearing progression and allow you to follow your own path.

In addition to the Arena Frenzy, we have DOUBLED the amount of arena points you earn during the weekend in 2v2 and 3v3 from just playing games, so now is a better time than ever to suit up with your closest allies and engage in battle.

Increasing your Conquest Point Cap

In addition to your unearned cap rolling over each week, 100% of your 2v2 or 3v3 rating over 1,500 (whichever is highest) goes into your Conquest Point Cap. If I have 2000 rating in 2v2, this means you will have an increase of 500 to my next cap.

Achievement Reworks

Last but certainly not least, achievements that previously required 5v5 will now require 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3. 5v5 was a deprecated bracket on Ascension thus being replaced with the 1v1 bracket. Achievements such as Arena Master, High Five achievements will now be obtainable in Ascension’s Brackets of 1v1, 2v2, 3v3 instead of 5v5 and the Last Man Standing achievement will now be obtainable in 3v3.
