Heroes!
Project Ascension has been running for a long time--since 2016, in fact! Over the years, many Heroes have come and gone on their classless Warcraft adventure. Their Heroes, whether mighty raiders or humble adventurers, are still slumbering just where they logged out all that time ago. Some of these Heroes have not awoken in over a year! It’s with these Heroes in mind that we come with an announcement:
On Tuesday, September 29th, we’re moving all characters who have not logged in for over a year to a new Character Archive realm!
This Archive realm will exist just to hold inactive heroes--characters who have not logged in for over a year or more. By moving them to an archive realm, we will:
- Free up hundreds of thousands of names on Core realms
- Take strain off the server to allow for quicker restarts
- Should be able to get them from 15 minutes to 2 minutes
Characters moved to the Archive realm can be retrieved at any time! If you ever feel like returning to your classless adventure, you can transfer your Hero swiftly back to Core Realms.
The Character Archive realm will free up hundreds of thousands of new names on Core Realms, putting those fancy mantras back in the hands of active players. Additionally, moving these inactive characters off of core realms will allow for much faster restarts in the event of crashes or planned maintenance.
We hope you’re excited to claim some names on Tuesday, Heroes! We’ll be bringing down Area 52 first, followed by Kil’jaeden to pick up sleepy Heroes and put them in the archives.
