Raid Trials Arrive on Elune
Heroes,
Do you crave absolutely brutal adventures to challenge yourself against? From insane combinations of Hardcore Trials to grueling Nightmare Mode raiding, many Heroes are out to find the hardest, most savage content to conquer.
Fortunately, Raid Trails have arrived!
What are Raid Trials?
Raid Trials are a brand new scaling system that lets you modify the Health and Damage of monsters within the raid. This allows you to adjust the challenge of the raid to your liking, allowing it to serve as a step above Nightmare Raiding for the best of heroes and just like Mythic+ and other timed challenges, world buffs like Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer will not be able to be used inside of raid trials.
Raid Trials progress linearly: you’ll need to complete level 1 before unlocking level 2, and so on. However, only one member of your team needs to have the level unlocked–so as long as one person in your party has completed Zul'Gurub on level 5, your entire group can attempt Zul'Gurub on level 6.
On raid trials’ release, every raid will have three levels of Raid Trials. Every level will be a percentage based damage and health increase for monsters, as well as a percentage based healing reduction for players. As the season progresses, so will the number of trial levels available.
Additionally, you can progress through Raid Trials as you please: you’re not limited by a weekly reset, and you can attempt as many times as you want. You can reset your Ascended Lockout as much as you want to attempt harder difficulties. You won’t get repeat boss loot on the additional lockouts, though.
How do I Activate Raid Trials?
As the highest tier of difficulty, Raid Trials can only be accessed in Ascended raids. To activate them, enter the Raid you want to challenge and open the Trial UI. From there, you can set the difficulty and earn bonus rewards for your raid team. You must be the raid leader to activate Raid Trials. Additionally, each Raid has unique cosmetic rewards as well as its own Leaderboard: this means you can show off your prowess by claiming the #1 spot across multiple raids.
Gather your strongest allies if you hope to have a shot at completing them.

Rewards
Raid Trials offer tons of rewards both cosmetic and practical.
First, Raid Trials offer bonus Cases of Fortune for completion: the first time you complete a level, you’ll get massive bonus Cases. Each repeat completion will earn you half as much. Completing any level 1 Raid Trial for the first time will net you 12 additional Cases of Fortune and 12 Talent Cases of Fortune. Completing any level 3 Raid Trial for the first time will net you 16 additional Cases of Fortune and 16 Talent Cases of Fortune. This bonus is awarded each time you complete a Trial for the first time, so you can only get it once per raid-trial! You can claim the first completion for every individual raid.
- Completing Raid Trials earn bonus Cases of Fortune based on the level of the Trial
- This bonus is awarded each time you complete a Trial for the first time, so you can only get it once per raid-trial.
- First time completion of a level 1 Trial earns you 12 Cases of Fortune and 12 Cases of Talent Fortune
- First time completion of a level 3 trial for that raid will earn you 16 Cases of Fortune and 16 Cases of Talent Fortune
- Rewards for first completion are unique to every raid. Meaning doing Molten Core level 1 and Zul'Gurub level 1 will still grant first time completion rewards for both raid trials.
- Half for repeat completions
- e.g. repeating a level 1 Trial in a raid where you have already completed the level 1 trial will earn you 6 Cases of Fortune and 6 Talent Cases of Fortune
- Single Boss Raids will award 1/3 the normal amount of Cases of Fortune.
Second, completing a level for the first time also awards an Ascended Raid Cache for the previous Raid Tier that is positively loaded with gear.
Finally, finishing a Raid Trial awards you with a number of Triumphant Raider Tokens equal to the level you completed: you’ll get 1 token for completing a level 1 Raid Trial, 5 for completing a level 5 trial, 10 for a level 10, etc. These tokens can be exchanged at the Raid Trial Vendor for exclusive cosmetic rewards. The Raid Trial Vendor will expand as more raids release.
You can redeem Triumphant Raider Tokens inside the Stormwind Keep or inside of Thrall's Throne room. Just visit Mazoga Museda.
