The frozen wastes of Northrend beckon: the classless Wrath of the Lich King Alpha is here!
Journey to Icecrown and face off against the undead in the most Iconic WoW expansion of all time. Descend into new dungeons, conquer new raids, and perhaps most importantly, augment your classless Hero with new talents and skills. Wrath will see Heroes customizing their characters like never before, creating the ultimate classless champion to tackle the most incredible content ever.
Notes on Development
As Wrath enters the Alpha, during the first phase of development, we’ll have a full-time team of dedicated devs working to get the Blizzlike World polished and pristine. The team working on the Alpha specializes in Wrath, and previously worked to complete the TBC.
During the Alpha Phase, our priorities are ensuring that Northrend is scripted properly. Specifically, focus is centered around recreating the world you love, and adding Ascension’s signature experiences once the groundwork is set. Quest scripts, creature scripts, RP events, and the sorts of details that breath life into Northrend (ha ha, it’s an undead place) will be the team’s first focus, moving on to more nitty-gritty details such as dungeons, raids, and balance after the world is polished.

As Classless Wrath of the Lich King continues development, we’ll make announcements in the WotLK Alpha Discord to showcase what we need tested, and let Heroes in the Alpha know what they can do to help. In addition, we’ll be active in that discord discussing ideas and gathering your feedback to move forward with changes to make WotLK Ascension’s best expansion yet.
