Getting your set of RE’s and Mystic Orbs

One of the biggest draws to Project Ascension is the idea of creating your own, unique hero; gathering equipment, becoming powerful, and achieving your class fantasy. Random Enchantments are an essential aspect of that, and they can turn a good build into an amazing one. With a bit of creativity and some clever choices, random enchantments can give players immense amounts of power, and the only downside is that it takes a while to achieve. We’d like to make that process smoother:

Mystic Orbs have been changed to group-loot. Now, when a Mystic Orb drops, your entire group will be able to loot it!

This may seem like a small change, but it actually has enormous effects. We’ve essentially multiplied the number of orb drops by x5, and increased the incentive for players to farm orbs in groups dramatically. Without the need to compete for Mystic Orbs, we hope to see more players farming dungeons together than ever before. From now on, every orb that drops off of a boss is, essentially, five orbs total.

We’re also adding a chance for Mystic Orbs to drop off of bosses in raids!

Although it won’t happen every time, bosses in raids will now have a chance to drop Mystic Orbs when slain.

Our goal with this overhaul is to promote grouping, reward players for running difficult content, and make the content players are already running more beneficial. We want players to feel good about playing together, and like the time they spend organizing dungeon and raid groups is worthwhile. That’s why, on top of the other changes we increased the reward from your first Looking for Dungeon each day from 2 to 3 Mystic Orbs. We hope the increased Mystic Orb drops will allow you to experiment more readily with different RE’s and builds.
As a few final notes, while the Mystic Orb Shard system was beneficial to casual players, it greatly neglected some of our veterans who were utilizing solo-farming, and has been put back on the shelf for re-evaluation. Mystic Orb Shards will still appear on Laughing Skull, out in the world, and their drop rate has been significantly increased. Mystic Orb Shards can be dropped on death, so you may get lucky and loot some from your victims!
