PvP Progression 2

Heroes have been duking it out during Warcraft Reborn’s 1st PvP Progression. Now, that draws to a close as the realm prepares to enter its next Progression! This is your chance to join the ranks of the elite in PvP, gather new Conquest Points, and compete against other players for new PvP weapons, armor, trinkets, enchantments, mounts, and titles.

PvP Progression 2 begins December 13th @ 18:00 Server Time

  • PvP Progression 1 Concludes December 13th at 17:59:00 Server Time
    • Those in the top 10 in any bracket get an exclusive mount to PvP Progression 1 and are rewarded the title “Gladiator”
    • Any Arena Points you have will be converted to Honor Points
    • Honor Points are not reset
  • PvP Progression 2 Begins December 13th at 18:00:00 Server Time
    • New PvP Rewards release from PvP Vendors at that time
      • New Weapons
      • New Armor
      • New accessories (rings, neck, cloak, trinkets) coming for Honor
      • New Trinkets
      • New Enchants

Once PvP Progression 2 is live, all PvP Progression 1 Gear AND (New) Weapons will become available for HONOR, allowing you to quickly get the pieces you need to jump into the frey. At that time, PvP Progression 2 introduces new accessories, new consumables, and new enchantments.

Here are just a few examples of some of the new things coming:

Conquest Points

Previously, Arena Points were gained by participating in the Arena. But not everyone likes Arenas, and they missed out on gaining these points to get crucial PvP gear. Now, Arena Points are replaced with Conquest Points.

Conquest Points are a new type of currency replacing Arena Points. You earn Conquest points in all end-game PvP: Battlegrounds, Arenas, and Crow’s Cache. Using Conquest Points, you will get some of the strongest PvP Equipment, so dive into bloodthirsty combat and earn your points.

  • Conquest Points replace Arena Points
    • Earnable from all end-game PvP
      • Battlegrounds
      • Arena
      • Crow’s Cache
    • Used to acquire some of the strongest PvP equipment

You earn Conquest Points in all end-game PvP:

  • Arena
    • Win: 300
    • Loss: 100
  • Battlegrounds
    • Win: 500
    • Loss: 250
  • Crow’s Cache
    • Wage War at Crow’s Cache in return you earn 300 Conquest Points.

Additionally, the weekly Conquest Point Cap is raised from 1,500 to 3,000.

Arena Changes

To encourage Arena play as one of the most action packed and competitive forms of PvP, updates come to the Arena.

  • Matchmaking improvements ensure that each fight is more competitive and exciting
  • Arena now awards Honor Points as well as the new Conquest Points

Since Conquest Points no longer are Arena-specific but can be gained through other game modes as well, Arena games have been adjusted to award Honor points too! Playing arenas will reward you with some honor for each game. This will not be nearly as much as you get from Battlegrounds (which will remain the main way of obtaining honor), but it will be a nice source of honor for players who spend a lot of time fighting in Arenas.

Arena Frenzy

The Arena Frenzy is a limited time special event that occurs just twice a week. During these action packed 2 hours, competing in the Arena awards bonuses like extra points and bonus loot. So dive into the arena to find them. Additionally, Group Queue for 3v3 is enabled during the Arena Frenzy.

  • The First Arena Frenzy Event debuts Friday, December 19th.
  • Arena Frenzy Events happen Friday + Sunday 21:00 to 23:00
  • While Arena Frenzy is active, you can queue 3v3 as a group!
  • Your rating in the 3v3 group queue will be separate from your 3v3 solo queue rating.
    • This means that if your regular arena partners are online and you still want to play, you can simply go solo.
    • It also means that you can use the group queue mode for competitive play while keeping solo queue for more casual or experimental play.
  • During Arena Frenzy, playing arenas will grant you additional rewards! These rewards are personal and among other things include cosmetics unique to Arena Frenzy.

Rewards

  • Unique Arena Frenzy Cosmetics
    • Custom Mount - The Champion’s Tiger
  • Exclusive Tabard with an on-use effect to show off your prowess.
  • Iconic Cosmetic Transformation Items
    • Limitless Noggenfogger Elixir
    • Regenerative Deviate Delight
    • … and more
  • Consumable like:
    • PvP Potions you can purchase with honor
    • Scrolls of Unlearning
    • Marks of War.

Horizontal Progression

Sometimes you want to PvP with multiple specs: maybe you want to play Feral Druid in Battlegrounds, but Restoration Druid in Arenas. Having to farm up and enchant 2 distinct, separate sets stops you from being able to dive straight into the action. Horizontal Progression fixes this problem.

Horizontal Progression first came to Ascension with Tier Sets: when you did a raid and got a piece of your tier set, you could then purchase any other tier set in that slot using gold. This made it easier for classes with multiple specs to gear up their offspec: if you got boots for your Enhancement Shaman, you could purchase the right boots for your Elementalist and Resto specs, helping you play your off-specs and only needing to collect the gear once.

Horizontal Progression now comes to PvP gear, so that you can compete to get the gear you need, then get it for all of your specs: specifically, once you get your PvP Helmet, Shoulders, Chest, Pants, Gloves, or Boots, you unlock the ability to purchase any piece in the equivalent slot using gold.

This is GREAT for classes like Druids, Shamans, Priests, and Paladins where you need unique gear sets for different specs or for classes that want to try out different enchantments on items without having to keep swapping the enchantments.

  • Horizontal Progression
    • Similar to the PvE system, Horizontal Progression allows you to acquire gear for multiple specializations in PvP.
      • How it works: When you earn any of the following gear slots from the current season's progression: Helmet, Shoulders, Chest, Pants, Gloves, or Boots, you unlock the ability to purchase the equivalent slot using gold.
    • This is useful for playing different specs in PvP. For example, if you have earned a piece of gear for a different spec (such as Balance Druid), you can now purchase equivalent gear for another spec (like Feral Druid) with gold.

Horizontal Progression lets you play what you want when you want without needing to spend twice or even x3 the time and or points to do it.

You can find these quartermasters in Stormwind and Orgrimmar where you exchange Honor and Conquest Points for gear.

Crow’s Cache

Crow’s Cache returns on December 17th at 18:00 Server Time: get ready to dive into massive group PvP.

PvP Specific Balance Changes

The next set of PvP Specific Balance Changes will begin rolling out December 13th: these changes will come at the start of PvP Progression 2, and will not affect PvP Progression 1 to preserve the integrity of the competition so far.
