Fishermen of the Horde and Alliance, connoisseurs of cuisine, custodians of the kitchen, harken! New content is here to put your culinary skills to the test. Are you a master of your secondary profession? Prove it.
New Cooking recipes have come to Ascension, and new Fishing Loot has come to hot lava (not a joke).
Today the chefs of Azeroth are getting a reason to stay in business--brand new cooking recipes are here to power up Heroes while also offering a tasty and relaxing meal. These new dishes will light your stats on fire, providing bonuses in dungeons, raids, or out in the world. Fourteen new meals are now available for you to prepare, as well as over a dozen new ingredients you’ll need to set the table. Where do you find them? Out in the world, of course! Isn’t that how being a chef works? You can’t make an omelette without going on an adventure first?

Get ready to eat! With a bit of prep time and a tasty meal, you’ll be able to receive a small bonus to one or more of your stats! Bare in mind, however, that this cuisine might require a few more spices than you’re used to: specifically Goblin Spices and a bit of Sugar, which can be obtained from specific NPC’s.
Additionally, there’s a new reason to grab hold of your rod on Ascension! Head out into the world and fish up a storm for the chance to get some epic new loot. You’ll even need to fish for the ingredients needed in the above recipes! Here’s the lowdown on what you can fish up:
- Lava Eel
- A slippery eel that thrives in Lava. Can be fished from lava in Blackrock Depths, around Blackrock Mountain, and in Fire Plume Ridge. Will your lure survive this?
- 425 Fishing recommended.
- This was the lava reference at the beginning of the article. You can fish in lava now. You’re welcome.
- Cunning Carp
- A smart fish who performed unreasonably well on the SAT. Might not be smart enough to avoid your lure if you’re 425 fishing or above.
- Fished from Lake Elune’ara
- Bloated Flat Fish
- Its a fish. It used to be flat. Now it’s bloated--something must be stuck inside. You should rescue it like a Hero by pulling out whatever it ate. Go on, stick your hand inside. Stick it right down into its fishy fish guts.
- Perfectly Calibrated Reel
- A flawless reel that increases your hit rating and also allows you to fish faster.
- Trinket
- Looks as though it was once stuck inside a fish
- Pagle’s Lucky Loop
- The lost ring of the legendary fisherman himself.
