Heroes!
Big changes arrive on Ascension.
Draft Improvements
This update rolls out a Draft Logic shift that will address the biggest pain points in the variety of abilities you see in your Drafts. This should lower the emphasis on prestige substantially, and increase the effectiveness of Lucky Cards for higher ability spells.
The Draft Logic Improvements aim to do the following:
- Ensure a higher variety of abilities show up across your draft, especially while leveling
- Increase the variety seen in Card Swaps
- Ensure different level requirement Lucky Cards have a more consistent chance to roll
- Higher level lucky cards were much harder to roll before.
- Decrease the need to Prestige by increasing the effectiveness of Hands of Fate
- Increase your chance to find core common abilities you need while leveling.

Up until now, certain types of builds were simply harder to roll than others. This new update addresses the problem by ensuring more variety in the spells you see, in addition to fixing a few outstanding inconveniences: for example, you can now roll Talent Point Abilities without having a talent point available, allowing you to see these abilities, decide whether you want them, and then unlearn a talent and get it–rather than needing to sit on spare talent points while leveling. In addition, Lucky Skill Cards will apply more consistently for all abilities.

Level Scaling Fixes and New Leveling Epic Enchants
With these changes, the need for prestige should be reduced substantially, allowing for a few other necessary changes and a reduction in friction where possible.
First, Level Scaling for dungeons is undergoing significant fixes to let them scale more properly from 15-60. This will be subject to a lot of further iteration to get it to a good place. This intends to create a much smoother experience 15-60 without crazy outliers in how the scaling is applying to different levels.
Second, several new RE’s allow you to learn lesser versions of some AoE spells, giving you the option to level effectively without compromising on your current draft. They’ll teach the ability without any prerequisites, so you can use them for as long as you need them, and swap out for a new RE when you don’t–all without affecting your draft build.
The following RE’s are now live on Ascension:
- Lesser Mind Sear
- Lesser Arcane Explosion
- Lesser Flamestrike
- Lesser Blizzard

These new Epic Enchantments scale with the talents and abilities of their regular counterpart. You can use each as early as level 1.
More of these are planned to release over the next week to give you more options in your dungeons.
Nozdormu’s Damaged Hourglass
Additionally, to ensure that all Heroes have access to these enchantments, Nozdormu now offers a Level 1 Trinket, making sure Heroes who choose to can apply these and other enchantments, providing meaningful different ways to go through that type of Dungeon Prestige. This trinket can be used however you desire, allowing ALL heroes to make use of enchantments they love from the beginning of the leveling process.

The overall result of these changes should be a big upgrade in the variety of spells you see, reduced friction when prestiging, leveling that’s engaging without being in the way, and a general upgrade to your Draft Experience.
