The next CoA Open Beta begins February 28th and lasts until March 9th. Here’s what you need to know:

• EVERYONE can play CoA for free during the event
  • Log in using the PTR Client
  • Choose the Leokk realm at Realm Select
• All 21 Classes are available during this test

During this Open Beta Test you can:

• Adventure to level 35
  • EXP Potions and Auras are available
    • If you don’t want to be affected by other peoples aura of experience, you can speak to The Lone Scholar by Stony Tark to disable these!
  • Play multiple CoA Classes to 35 and submit your feedback
• Explore Azeroth as a CoA Class
• Discover new RPG Elements on CoA
  • Challenge RPG Stats and Behaviors on Creatures
  • Discover NEW Immersive Item Drops to outfit your CoA class
  • Explore the Open World and hunt for new RPG Items
• Dive into dungeons, battlegrounds, and explore the Open World

Get the PTR Client

You'll need the PTR Client to play the Open Beta. To get it, open the Launcher and hit the drop down menu, then select “PTR” from the list:

1. Click the dropdown menu above 'Play'
2. Select PTR
3. Install PTR
4. Enjoy the Open Beta!

Class Tree Overhaul

A Class Tree Overhaul recently took place that addressed the disparity of damage-increasing talents at certain levels. Some CoA classes had more damage increasing talents at early levels, which made them objectively better than others in those level brackets.

This overhaul addresses those discrepancies so that each class has power appropriate to their level, ensuring the environment is always competitive.

This Overhaul separates the function of the class tree and the spec tree, with your Class Tree now containing the bulk of utility, crowd control, and other effects that take the entire class into account, with the specific specialization tree offering talents that make you stronger: raw damage increases, more critical strike chance, or introducing a new layer into your rotation to grant you more power. 

This overhaul not only makes sure that classes are competitive with each other, it also ensures that you feel that the Open World is leveling with you, and that creatures are gaining strength as you adventure to more dangerous areas.
