Prepare for the Storm (Of Updates)
Heroes!
April has some B I G updates headed your way: as League 2 continues to charge through Vanilla, Core Realms can look forward to some brand new content!
Here’s what’s on the horizon:
- Doomwalker Unleashed!
- Bloodbowl Reworks
- Honorable Combat Tweaks
- New Arena Prestige Weapons
- New Scrolls of Fortune on Core
- Mythic Dungeons on the Horizon
Lets jump into it:
Doomwalker
The cunning mo'arg engineers of the Burning Legion pushed their gan'arg workers for weeks in the construction of the first fel reaver, a massive construct that could easily raze fortified towers or tear the wings off an airborne gryphon. Though pleased by the success of their construct, the engineers quickly realized that they could improve upon the design. While the forge camps began to mass-produce these fel reavers to smash the mortal forces of Outland, all the manpower of the mighty Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley was dedicated to the creation of a superior machine.
Doomwalker appears on Area 52 and Wildhammer!
A new World Boss awaits outside the gates of Black Temple! Doomwalker, the colossal Fel Reaver is in the process of knocking politely on Illidan Stormrage’s front door. Slay him and claim the loot he offers!
Like all World Bosses, Doomwalker will appear in both High Risk and No Risk phases, so you’ll have double the chance to take him down. Additionally, all of Doomwalker’s loot is BoE, so guilds who take him down have more options with how they use the loot they earn! Gear up new members, stash it for later, or even sell it! Good luck, and don’t fear the Reaver!
Doomwalker appears on May 1st at 18:00 Server Time!
Blood Bowl
Heroes!
The Gurubashi Blood Bowl is one of Stranglethorn Vale’s greatest sporting events: you jump in the ring, you kill people one-on-one, and the one who kills the most gets a prize. Truly a challenge of champions. What could be better than this rampant carnage? If it moved to TBC, too: the Blood Bowl is coming to Outland!
- Welcome to Blood Bowl: Outland Edition
- The Blood Bowl arrives in world arenas throughout Outland. Look for the world announcement to find out where to go!
- Arena Competitor
- Each time you slay an enemy inside of the ring, you’ll get a stack of Arena Competitor. This handy buff grants you Mystic Orb Shards each time you slay a player; the more buffs you have, the more Shards you get! Take down more enemies to get more shards.
- Disabled PvE Mode
- Jumping into the Gurubashi Arena now removes No Risk PvE mode, placing you into No Risk PvP.
- No more Grouping
- The area around the Blood Bowl is now a party-free zone. No more helping fighters with auras, you cheaters.
- Resurrect with Full Health!
- After dying in the Blood Bowl, you will resurrect with full health to help Heroes get immediately back into the action!
- Pick on Somebody your Own Size
- Heroes can no longer attack the same person over and over in the Blood Bowl. Find new enemies to challenge and take down!
- Arena Dampening
- While competing in the Arena, Heroes will receive a dampening stack every 5 seconds, reducing the effectiveness of healing by 1% per stack. This will help prevent healer builds from elongating fights and creating a frustrating atmosphere.
- New Rewards!
- New items are available from the Blood Bowl that have been tailored to both Vanilla and TBC content!
In addition, two brand new mounts have been added to the Blood Bowl, granting Heroes that want to strut their stuff a brand new ride. Show off your victory in the Bowl!
The new and improved Blood Bowl is coming to all realms on April 17th! This means Heroes on core realms can look forward to tackling Outland competitions, and Heroes on Gul’dan can enjoy the original Gurubashi Blood Bowl before moving into Outlands!
Honorable Combat Zones
For Heroes who love the thrill of 1v1 combat but aren’t too thrilled with finding a healer in it, this change is for you! Just like the Blood Bowl, Honorable Combat Zones now benefit from the Arena Dampening Effect.
Just like the Blood Bowl, while in combat in a 1v1 zone, Heroes receive a stacking buff every 5 seconds. Each stack causes your heals to be 1% less effective--short and simple. This is not to discourage Heroes from taking healing spells, but rather to prevent healing builds from purposely elongating fights and frustrating other players. If you’re going into a 1v1 zone, be prepared to fight to the death!
New Scrolls of Fortune
Wildcard heroes, rejoice! As Gul’dan prepares to charge into TBC, Wildcard Heroes can look forward to additional Scrolls of Fortune during levels 61 to 70. Now, heroes will receive an additional Scroll of fortune each level from 61 to 70, for a total of 10 Additional Scrolls! This change affects both Gul’dan and Wildhammer, so when League 2 goes into TBC, you can expect more Scrolls of Fortune to snag those juicy level 70 abilities. Additionally, Heroes on Wildhammer can also claim these scrolls by speaking with Silas Darkmoon.
Look forward to grabbing these extra Scrolls of Fortune on April 17th @ 18:00 server! Good luck with those rerolls!
Prestige Arena Weapons
Want to prove you’re a master of the arena? Now you can show off your skills with Prestige Arena Weapons! This new arsenal won’t come easy, it is tied behind a large arena point cost and a steep rating requirement. Prestige Arena Weapons have a special tag and increased stats to indicate and show that you definitely don’t want to be messed with in the Arena.
Prestige Weapons will become available on Wildhammer and Area 52 on April 21st @ 18:00 server!
Mythic Dungeons
Coming soon to Ascension. Get your friends ready.
