What is Mythic+?

Mythic+ is an end-game Dungeon Challenge Mode where you can climb into higher and higher tiers of difficulty to earn better and better rewards as a 5 man group. In Mythic+, you’ll challenge max-level versions of classic dungeons, competing against a timer while dealing with weekly-rotating affixes that encourage strategy, coordination, and focus. The faster you overcome the dungeon, the more loot you’ll receive:

Mythic Affixes

However, it’s not so easy to defeat these dungeons: Mythic+ dungeons have weekly rotating AFFIXES–additional effects that change how you interact with these dungeons.

From Corpse Explosion to Convention of the Elements, these affixes present you with dynamic and interesting effects that you’ll have to use clever strategy and timing to overcome.

Mythical Boons

Luckily, there’s power inside Mythic Dungeons for you to wield: Mythic Boons are hidden objects located off the normal dungeon path that you can see out and use if you choose. When you find one of these boons, it will bestow its benefits in the form of an item to each member of your party. Party members can use these boons at any time to receive a powerful buff based on the boon, granting you strategic power when you need it most.

Mythic Boons reward you for taking new, unique paths through dungeons, and are powerful enough to make it worth slaying a few extra creatures to obtain.

Mythic Keystones

To enter a Mythic+ Dungeon, you’ll need a Keystone. Keystones are obtained by beating a normal Mythic Dungeon (also known as Mythic 0). You can change your dungeons to Mythic by clicking your character portrait and setting Dungeon Difficulty to Mythic.

Once you defeat the final boss of a Mythic 0 Dungeon, you’ll get a random keystone for a random Mythic+ dungeon. This is the item you need! Form a group and head to the dungeon. Once inside, click your Keystone to activate it and see the affixes you’ll need to overcome for that dungeon.

If you complete a Mythic+ run, your keystone will increase, going up one point (i.e. from +1 → +2). Each time your Keystone goes up a level, you can challenge tougher and tougher versions of Mythic+. Each new level brings greater challenge AND greater rewards: higher Mythic+ levels have even more powerful versions of your favorite dungeon loot, so you can aim for things like a +20 Ironfoe or a +30 Briarwood Reed. Higher levels of Mythic+ items can even rival raid items.

Mythic+ Dungeons have all of the classic loot you know and love, and that loot gains power depending on what level of Mythic+ you tackle: a +10 Magister’s Robes will have more stats than a +1 Magister’s Robe, meaning you have endless possibilities to dive into dungeons and get strong gear perfect for your class.

Mythic Caches

When you complete a Mythic+ dungeon, you’ll receive a Mythic Cache as a reward. These caches contain random Mythic+ items from any dungeon, and the items will be scaled to the level of the Mythic+ you received the cache in.

Mythic+ Caches are also massively improved on Reborn, now always giving you gear you can actually equip. Never again will you open up a cache to get an unequippable item that you just recycle. The gear you get will always be based on your class or spec.

On Bronzebeard, you’ll be able to get up to 40 caches each week. This will increase each week.

Mythic Coins

Sometimes the item you want doesn’t drop: that’s okay! Each time you complete a Mythic+ dungeon, you’ll receive Mythic Coins. These coins can be used to upgrade Mythic items. This means that you can delve into Mythic 0 dungeons to find the items you want, then upgrade them with your coins up to the highest level of Mythic+ you’ve completed. With every Mythic+ you complete, you’re getting coins you can use to empower items you find.

You can also recycle unwanted Mythic Items to Edrim Skysong for coins so that you’re always making progress towards the items you want.

On Bronzebeard, you can get up to 2750 Mythic Coins each week. This will increase each week.

Runes of Ascension

Completing Mythic Dungeons awards plenty of Runes of Ascension: both from boss kills AND from completing the dungeon. If you’re on the hunt for runes as a 5-man group, Mythic+ Dungeons are a great way to get your hands on some.
