Another small set of tweaks are coming next week to continue to enhance build variety on Ascension!

In case you missed it, check out our previous article going over the intent, reasons, and goals of these small tweaks. We'll summarize here as well!

Build variety and viability are two of the most important parts of Ascension: whether you’re playing in Draft Mode or Free Pick, you want to play how you want! Sometimes, that means a few tweaks on the back end: both to make sure underperforming builds get a bit better, and overperforming builds don’t get so good that everyone’s forced to play them.

So here’s a few tweaks!

These tweaks are small balance adjustments, generally around 1-5%, that target underperforming and overperforming builds to accomplish two goals:

  • Provide small buffs to underperforming abilities, talents, enchants, and builds to help make them viable
  • Provide small nerfs to stronger builds to stop Heroes from feeling forced to play them

These updates specifically target PvE, while taking care not to impact PvP. They operate on the margin: you won’t feel any enormous game changing differences in your build. However, these tweaks will gently enhance build variety throughout PvE: all without being intrusive to the current builds you love.

The Tweaks!

  • Swipe (Cat) now deals 120% weapon damage, up from 110%. 
  • Envenomed now makes your Rogue poisons deal 10% additional damage to targets that are bleeding, up from 5%. 
  • Deadly Combo now increases the damage of your Execute by 30% per stack, up from 20%. 
  • The Titanic Power buff from Fury of the Titans now stacks up to 3 times. It still increases the damage of your next Warrior attack by 15% (per stack). 
    • Fixed an issue where the Titanic Power buff from Fury of the Titans neither would benefit nor be consumed by certain Warrior abilities. Among other things, this buff now benefits Bladestorm. 
  • Bloodthirst now has an attack power coefficient of 0.58, up from 0.55. It now deals 5% reduced damage against players, resulting in PvP damage largely being unchanged. 
  • Eviscerate (Disembowel) from Blood and Guts now deals damage 4 times over 6 seconds, up from 3 times. This increases its overall damage by 33%. Its damage against players is now reduced by 35%, up from 15%, 
    • Resulting in a slight increase in PvP damage. 
  • Increased the damage of the Starfall portion of Knight of the Eclipse by approximately 30% against monsters (10% against players). 
  • Increased the damage of Frostbrand against non-players by approximately 10%.
  • Increased the damage dealt by Wild Locust Swarm in the Locust Ranger Mystic Enchantment by 10% 
  • The damage dealt by Shadow Dagger caused by your clone in the Forbidden Technique Mystic Enchantment has been increased by 10%.
  • Increased the healing done by Healing Wave while the Tidecaller Mystic Enchantment is active from 25% to 40%. 
  • Increased the reduction in Healing taken from Healing Wave from 3% to 4% per stack of Tidecallers boon. 
    • These changes makes Healing Wave more potent when targets have no stacks but the amount healed remains the same when targets are at high stacks of Tidecallers Boon.
