Claim your Glory
Official Realm First Claim Requirements
Heroes!
For many of you, the glory of claiming Realm First is the reason your Hero draws breath. This is particularly true of Raids and Raiding Guilds, who race spectacularly with each new raid release to claim the honor of quickest and most skillful run. Many players devote hours to tackling this new content as quickly and effectively as possible, attempting, adapting, and mastering new dungeons and bosses the very moment they release. To ensure fairness as players and guilds compete for this honor, we’re establishing a precedent that all claims of Realm First must follow. For those of you pursuing that honor, please be sure to carefully review the following:
- “Ascension First” claims are retiring: Due to the unique differences in raiding between Ascension’s realms, Firsts can now be claimed exclusively on the realm in which they are achieved (Laughing Skull First, Andorhal First, etc.).
Realm First Claims must be accompanied by Video Footage. All footage submitted for the purpose of Realm First Claims must adhere to the following requirements:
- The Raid from Start to Finish
- Any guild seeking to claim a Realm First dungeon, raid, world boss, etc. must provide a video to Game Masters clearly showing the run from the beginning of the instance to the end. Failure to show the instance in its entirety may result in an inability to acknowledge the realm first achievement as valid.
- Single Perspective
- Video footage must be taken from a single player’s perspective, and must remain in that perspective throughout the dungeon and all encounters.
- Display the In-Game Clock, set to Realm Time
- In order to properly gauge how quickly a guild progresses and finishes a raid, the only acceptable metric is the in-game clock, set to Realm Time. This clock will be used to determine which guild completes the raid fastest. Guilds may wish to show their cursor hovering over the in game clock before the raid starts, and after the final boss, to further prove their clear time.
- UI must be clearly visible
- We understand that many guilds prefer to mask certain aspects of their User Interface when releasing a video to the public and/or Ascension Community. However, for purposes of a Realm First claim, all such editing should be excluded--please be sure to submit an unedited version to GM’s.
The following may disqualify a video from being considered for a Realm First:
- Obscured Video Footage: the dungeon/raid/boss fights should all be clearly visible. Any obstructed footage, whether in game or post, may be grounds for disqualification
- Incomplete footage: failing to record the entire dungeon
- Switching player perspective: changing perspective from one player to another
- Failing to display the in-game clock
- Obscured UI
We hope these requirements will help guilds across all of Ascension’s Realms have a fair race to Realm First moving forward.
Good luck, heroes!
