Zul’aman, Tempest Keep, Bonus Weekend and a Week of Felforged

Big events hit the scene this month, and it won’t be long until you have the chance to dive into all of them!!

At the height of their rule, the troll empire spanned across the entire Eastern Kingdoms! Now, they are all but destroyed. The ancient Amani Empire now seeks to reclaim what was taken from them in the forests of Zul’aman (an eye for an eye, as it were…)!
Zul’aman comes to Area 52 on October 1st!
Zul’jin and his empire are back with more tricks than ever before: leap into re-designed Normal and Heroic on October 1st, with Ascended arriving later on down the line! All versions will have custom content that will keep you on the edge of your War Bear! Check out the new redesign of Zul’aman:

Not sure where to get started? Griftah in Shattrath will lead Heroes towards Zul’aman!
Charge through a redesigned Zul’aman however you choose: tackle bosses in any order, reap rewards without being gated by the time trial, and get extra loot for beating the clock! Zul’aman has all new mechanics and abilities to overcome. Will you finish what the High Elves started so long ago? Or will you become another shrunken head on Zul’jin’s belt?
Tempest Keep
Once a fortress for the illustrious Naaru, Tempest Keep is now ruled by the lord of the Blood Elves, Kael’thas Sunstrider. The keep is dominated by scores of his brethren as the Blood Elves prepare to claim Netherstorm’s power for themselves. Storm the keep and bring down the Prince to spare Outland his wrath!
Tempest Keep releases September 24th on Al’ar! Aside from finally being able to kill Al’ar on Al’ar, and then ride Al’ar on Al’ar with your Al’ar pet summoned, Tempest Keep also brings incredible new items to draft Heroes. Grab your Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix, Talon of the Al'ar, Twinblade of the Phoenix, and more in Tempest Keep! What’s more, you’ll be in a better position than ever before to get it: Raider’s Commendations return!
Bonus Weekend
Next weekend, September 23rd to the 25th, you can look forward to a huge bonus weekend! Heroes can look forward to all of the following:
- +30% Bonus Experience
- +30% Bonus Honor
- Prestige Daily doubled to 10k for the bonus weekend!
- Prestige marks doubled to 10k for the bonus weekend!
For the bonus weekend only, Heroes can dive into a massively boosted prestige mode that rewards Heroes who dive in!
TBC Raider’s Commendations
Defeating new bosses isn’t the only update to raiding this September: TBC Raider’s Commendations return!
Raider’s Commendations guarantee that no matter what raids you run, you’re making progress towards the rewards you want with every boss you kill. Using these commendations, you can purchase Raid Equipment up to the previous released tier as long as you’ve completed the raid! This is the Ultimate Catchup Mechanic, allowing you to down bosses, get commendations, and gear up your character.
Here’s how to get them:
- Every boss in TBC now drops Raider Commendations
- Raids with fewer bosses like Gruul’s Lair and Magtheridon will drop additional commendations!
- Up to a total of 10
- Raids with fewer bosses like Gruul’s Lair and Magtheridon will drop additional commendations!
- Every End Raid Boss will drop at least 6 Commendations
- Providing ample incentive for Heroes to finish a raid and persevere until the end!
- World Bosses will also drop Commendations!
Raider’s Commendations are the ultimate catchup mechanic, allowing Heroes to clear a raid, collect commendations, and grab the equipment they need without having to rely on it dropping by chance. This means that every raid you run, and every boss you kill, moves you one step closer to the gear you need!
Keep in mind that you’ll need to CLEAR a raid to buy its gear, and only the previous Raid Tier will be available. That means once Zul’aman releases, SSC and Tempest Keep gear are yours to grab with Commendations!
Raider’s Commendations allow Heroes to get their hands on the normal versions of highly sought-after items such as the Dragonspine Trophy or Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix. Keep in mind, if you want Heroic or Ascended versions, these will only be obtainable as boss loot!
Finally, as more raids are released throughout TBC, the amount of Commendations you can earn increases drastically. This helps all heroes gear up faster, as well as properly equip their alts or new classless specs!
