Some big changes are here for League 2’s Felforged Mode:
Many Heroes on Gul’dan expressed their desire to tackle Felforged Challenges without the requirement of killing other Heroes. In order to avoid PvP, some Heroes resorted to silly forms of gameplay like trading kills just to complete these challenges. Felforged Challenges should be available to all Heroes, regardless of whether or not they want to PvP, so in order to ensure a fun experience for both PvE and PvP focused Felforged Heroes, a few big changes are in the works for Felforged Mode:
- Fel Challenges will no longer require Player Kills
- Heroes interested solely in tackling Felforged Challenges can now do so without needing to PvP at all
- In return, to encourage PvP, a brand new feature comes to Felforged Mode: Battlefields!
Battlefields
Battlefields are brand new locations throughout Azeroth that will serve as beacons for both Felforged and Normal Heroes seeking to PvP. Similar to Hotspots, Battlefields are specific locations inside of major zones that will offer HUGE rewards for both Felforged and Normal Heroes who venture there to fight. Not only will they serve to funnel players looking to PvP to the same zones, but they’ll also help Felforged and Normal Heroes find eachother to engage in epic PvP combat. Here’s a brief summary:
- Battlefields are specific areas inside Zones
- Like Hotspots
- Find them by looking at your map
- In a Battlefield, Felforged Heroes gain bonus Souls for slaying Heroes
- Bonus is increased for each challenge you have active
- Meanwhile, Normal Heroes get double Purified Souls for slaying Felforged
- Find and slay those dastardly villains!
- New Call Board Quests
- Felforged Heroes have a repeatable quest to slay Heroes in Battlefields, allowing them to continually roam these dangerous areas to hunt for souls
- Meanwhile, Normal Heroes have a daily Call Board Quest to slay Felforged lurking in Battlegrounds for incredible rewards
- Note: Bonuses can ONLY be obtained while Heroes are on the appropriate quest!
- Once the quest objective is complete, players will no longer receive Battlefield bonuses.
Just a few potential Battlefields
The purpose of Battlefields is twofold:
- To allow Normal and Felforged Heroes looking to PvP a place to find each other
- To allow Felforged Heroes who just want to do Challenges to be able to without worrying about PvP
Battlefields will rotate every day, last for 24 hours, and will have both a Group and Solo Call Board Quest associated with them, so you can tackle the one that’s right for you. In addition, multiple Battlefields will be active throughout the world at once, one for each 10 levels. No matter where you are in your Felforged adventure, you’ll be able to find one of these spots.
