The time has come. After one million years in development, Ascension is proud to release the new official website. We’d like to say this has been a long time coming--because it has.

**You guys sure you don’t want to push it back one more year?**

Greetings from the Ascension team, Heroes! It’s been a while since our last article, and we’re thrilled to bring you this bit of big news: the new Ascension Website is finally here. With it, Ascension moves from old code to a modern interface that gives our team the ability to serve information directly to you. From news articles to changelogs, to updated build calculators, videos, tutorials, and Leaderboards, this new website is paving the way for a better Ascension.

This new, upgraded website can better serve as an information hub, making it easy for Heroes to find the stuff they need. It provides tons of functionality to both players and staff, making it easier to share relevant information and improve the game.

Features Available Now:

Leaderboards

Competition is fierce on Ascension. Whether you’re raiding, competing in the Arena, skulking about in High Risk PvP, or even leveling an Ironman, Ascension is full of opportunities to get your name out into the world. With the new Leaderboard section, you’re in the community spotlight.

The Leaderboard section of the new site will feature all sorts of rankings--from Arena participation to Leveling, Challenge Modes, and Raid Progression--so players can see how they measure up either for fun or competitively.

The Changelog at your Fingertips

Keeping up to date with the latest changes and balance updates is essential for competitive players: with the changelog, all that info is a swift click away.

The new changelog section will be the place for Heroes to check up on the latest changes, bug fixes, and balance updates to Ascension.

And with the search feature, you can filter the list for changes you care about.

Updated User Control Panel

The new website puts your account entirely under your control with the updated User Control Panel. The UCP now lets you control a ton of different aspects of your account straight from the website.

Want to Activate or Deactivate a character in-game without logging in? You can do that.

Have a ticket to submit and want the GM to contact you over discord? Link your Discord to the ticket--you can do that.

Think someone might have hacked your account? See what IP’s have logged into your account this week--you can do that. It’s your account, and you’re in control.

News Articles: Quick, Simple, More Frequent News

News Articles are one of the major ways that Ascension communicates with its players. When we have new or exciting things to report, we do it with a News Article.

The new website allows more team members to post articles directly onto the site, meaning quicker and more frequent news updates for players.

There’s also now an easily navigable Archive with a search bar, so if you’re coming back after a break you can instantly search for what’s new, and what’s relevant to you.

New Launcher Framework

Alongside the new website, we are also bringing our launcher up to the new framework. The launcher will now update alongside the site in real-time and the new codebase will allow us to more seamlessly add new features and functionality!

What We’ll be Working on

Bugtracker

Report bugs quick and effortlessly with the new website’s Bug Tracker. This handy little tool will not only allow players to make easier reports (and a huge thank you to everyone who does, by the way, we can’t tell you how much we appreciate it), but also have a conversation with other players AND the team about reported bugs.

Forums

Though it won’t be out with the Website’s launch, a new Forum is on the way for Heroes to converse, chat, share builds, pitch suggestions, and keep in touch with both each other and the devs. Though a lot of our recent communication has happened over Discord, we’re excited to establish a community on the Forums where posts, suggestions, discussions, and feedback can happen swiftly and organically. We’ll let everyone know when those are up and running!

New Builds Section: Theorycraft, Make, and Share

Theorycrafting and Build Creation is at the heart of Ascension: whether you’re making your own, or trying one out. The new website hosts the same Build Calculator as on the past website, but some big changes will be coming to it over the next few months. With these upcoming new features, Heroes will be able to quickly and easily create, share, export, and import builds!

We hope you find a ton of utility with this new website, Heroes! It’s laying the groundwork for a lot of good things to come. With the freedom to send out information swiftly and efficiently, whether that’s through news articles, changelogs, video content, or forum posts, you can expect this new homepage to be a hub for all things Ascension now and going into the future.

Note: The old Build Creator needs some updating to fit the new site and will be available soon.
