Giving Low-Tier Abilities a Little Boost

On Ascension, player choice is everything. Whether it’s abilities, talents, gear, or weapons, you as a player pick what matters to you, creating a hero that truly completes your class fantasy. Over the course of your adventure, we hope each of you is realizing that fantasy, finding a build that resonates with you and cements your identity in-game. On Ascension, the more options that are available to choose from, the more we succeed in this vision. We’re doing everything we can to increase the number of viable spells and talents for players to pick from in order to increase build diversity and allow players to shine in the ways they want to.
However, we know not every ability and talent in game is strong.
Introducing Ascension Buff Packs:
The goal of Ascension Buff Packs is to target a handful of weak and under-picked spells, abilities, and talents, and give them a boost. Every so often, our development team will be taking a look at some of the less-strong abilities in the game and buffing them.
Our goal with this change is simple; open up more options to players, and increase build diversity. The more variety we see in builds, the better Ascension completes its goal of allowing player freedom.
The first Ascension Buff Pack is live, targeting a number of spells and talents to improve. A full list can be found in our change log right here: https://project-ascension.com/changelog. Keep an eye out for buff packs in the future, and, while we’re at it, tell us in the comments below what your favorite under-picked spell or talent is. Who knows; you might see it in our next pack.
