Talents & Abilities

Change

Frenzied Regeneration has been reworked. It now reads: Reduces your damage taken by 20% for 6 seconds. When this effect expires, you will be healed for 50% of the damage taken while active. This effect lasts for 6 seconds, with a 30 second cooldown.

Savage Defense has been reworked. It now reads: Each time you deal a critical strike while in Bear Form or Dire Bear Form, you gain Savage Defense, reducing the damage taken from the next three physical attacks against you by an amount equal to 5% of your maximum health plus 5% of your attack power.

Protector of the Pack now also increases Demoralizing Roar's effectiveness by 7/14/20%.

Berserk now also doubles the effectiveness of Savage Defense's absorption effect while active.

Feral Charge - Bear now also increases the critical strike chance of your next Bear ability by 30% (10% versus players).

Nurturing Instinct now increases your healing taken while in Cat or Bear Form by 5/10% (Does not stack with similar effects), this effect is tripled while Survival Instincts is active. It still also increases your healing power by 15/30% of your Agility.

Clarified the Primal Gore capstone, it now mentions Savage Defense being able to trigger from Lacerate's periodical critical strikes.

[New Capstone] Improved Mangle - Capstone Bonus: Mangle reduces the cooldown of your Enrage and Tiger's Fury by 3 seconds. This effect cannot occur more than once every 3 seconds.

Predatory Strikes no longer increases attack power based on level (this effect is moved to the Feral Aggression talent) and instead reduces the energy cost of Cat Form finishers by 3/6/9 energy per point. The rest of its effect remains unchanged.

Improved Leader of the Pack's now generates 8/16% base mana, up from 4/8%.

Feral Instincts now also reduces your damage taken while Enrage is active by 1/2/3% and increases your damage dealt while Tiger's Fury is active by 2/4/6%.

Feral Swiftness now also increases your movement speed while in Bear and Dire Bear Form by 5/10%. It also reduces the cooldown of Survival Instincts by 25/50%.

Feral Aggression from the Feral Druid tree has been reworked. It is now a 3 point talent, changed from 5. It now reads: While in Feral forms you deal 3/6/9% increased damage against targets above 75% and increases your attack power by 50/100/150% of your level.

Rend and Tear now increases Maul and Shred's damage done by 7/14/20% and Ferocious Bite's critical strike chance by 7/14/20% against bleeding targets, changed from 5/10/15/20/25%.

[New Capstone] Divinity - With the final rank of this talent, being healed by others reduces the cooldown of your Divine Protection by 2 seconds. This effect can only occur once every second, and requires Righteous Fury to be active.

Divinity is now a level 40 talent, changed from level 10, and has been reworked. It now reads: Increases your healing taken by 4/8/12% and increases your healing power by 10/20/30% of your spell power. This effect requires your primary stat to be Strength to be active. It also has a new capstone.

Change

Touched by the Light has been reworked, it now reads: being healed by others has a chance to increase the effect of direct heals cast on yourself by 4/7/10%, stacking up to 3 times. When fully stacked, your next direct heal on yourself will shroud you in Light, healing you for 50% of the original heal each time you take direct damage. This bonus heal can trigger 3 times (only once versus players). This talent requires Righteous Fury.

[New Protection Paladin Level 10 Talent] Improved Consecration - Consecration now deals instant Holy damage to nearby enemies, causing extra threat and slowing their melee attack speed by 7/14/20% for 15 sec.

To help lower-level tanks with mana, Spiritual Attunement has been moved to the second row (level 15) in the Protection Paladin tree, up from the seventh row (level 45).

Judgements of the Just now also increase the threat generated by your Seal and Judgement spells by 15/30%.

Shield of the Templar now also increases the critical strike chance of Shield of Righteousness by 5/10/15%.

Righteous Defense now transfers the next melee or ranged attack made against an ally to you. In addition, while active 25% of the threat they generate will go to you instead.

Improved Righteous Fury now increases the total armor bonus you gain from Righteous Fury by an additional 3/6/9%. In addition, while Righteous Fury is active all damage you take is reduced by 1/2/3%.

Shield of Righteousness is now available at level 1! This ability deals Holy damage based on your block value (70% coefficient) and spell damage (30% coefficient). It also heals you for an amount depending on your level and spell damage (30% coefficient). This ability shares a cooldown with Shield Slam.

Change

Holy Shield has been reworked into a powerful defensive ability with a 30 second cooldown. It now increases chance to block by 100% and increases the armor you gain from your Shield by 250% for 5 seconds. While active, attacks that would otherwise kill you will instead trigger your Ardent Defender, regardless of its cooldown. This effect can only trigger once per cast.

Righteous Fury is now a bar-changing ability (like stances and shapeshifts) and reads as follows: Increases your total armor by 10% and increases your spell damage by 30% of your Stamina. While this stance is active your threat generated it significantly increased, but your overall damage done is reduced 10%.

Changed the tooltip of Bulwark in line with similar mystic enchants and clarified its effects.

Shield Mastery now increases your block value by 10/20%, increases the damage done by your Shield Slam by 7/15%, and now requires Defensive Stance.

Moved threat mods and flat threat effects of abilities like Shield Slam, Riposte, Ghostly Strike, Devastate, Crimson Champion, etc into the threat bonus of stances (Righteous-Fury, Defensive Stance, Mana-Forged Barrier and Bear form). In addition, the stances' threat bonus has been significantly increased. This change results in a positive buff of threat for all tank builds and opens up opportunities for new and creative cross-class tank builds.

Item Changes

Libram of Repentance has been reworked. Libram of Repentance now grants 84 block value, changed from 42 block rating. In addition, Libram of Repentance no longer increases block chance while Holy Shield (Crimson Champion) is active.

[Area 52] Corrected an issue where Mysterious Arrows and Mysterious Shells would not correctly appear on the Special Ammunition Vendors in Shattrath City.

Dungeons & Raids

Change

Monster's Fierce Blows can now be Blocked. Just as with Stagger and Absorb effects, it pierces through 50% of the Block amount. This means that if you block 500 damage from a normal hit, you will be able to block 250 damage from a Fierce Blow.

Mystic Enchants

Change

The Champion's Wrath effect from Crimson Champion can now also trigger from Shield of Righteousness.

Baleful Hammer now increases the duration of your Holy Shield by 1 second when dealing damage with Hammer of the Righteous.

[New Epic Enchant] Imposing Combo - Your Combo Points can now be consumed by the following abilities, causing them to generate additional threat and to buff you for 2 seconds plus an additional 2 seconds per combo point spent: Divine Storm: Increases your armor by 5%. Victory Rush: Increases your max health by 5%. Stormstrike: Reduces your damage taken by 3%.

Blademaster has been reworked, it now reads: After parrying an attack you become a Blademaster, increasing your expertise rating by 15% of your Strength for 10 seconds. While active, your abilities become empowered: Devastate: Deals 50% additional damage to all nearby enemies and reduces the target's armor by an additional 10% for 5 seconds. Riposte: Increases the damage staggered by Tactical Mastery capstone by 20% for 5 seconds. Divine Storm: Increases your Armor by 200% of your Strength for 5 seconds. Blademaster can only proc every 3rd parry.

[New Legendary Enchant] Relentless - Your Relentless Strikes talent now also increases the Armor you gain from your Shield by 100%. Your Expose Armor and Eviscerate abilities trigger an additional effect while wearing a Shield: Expose Armor - Generates high threat and causes your physical abilities against the target to deal additional high-threat damage. Eviscerate - Triggers a second attack with your Shield, dealing damage to all nearby enemies. In addition, your Hemorrhage now has a chance to trigger the Sword and Board talent, and your Shield Slam now awards two combo points.
